This past weekend I decided it was time to treat myself/celebrate with my first paycheck from my new job. My hair was in desperate need of some tending to so I called up my stylist and booked an appointment on the first available day she had open. It felt amazing to finally be getting my much needed trim and color touch up!  While she was working her magic I was rambling on about how horrible my nails looked. Eyebrows and nails are just something I really am not the best at keeping up with. Anyways, she suggested I try out her Shellac polishes to compliment my new hair do. Of course I agreed.

The application of the Shellac takes about 15 to 20 minutes, so really no longer than any other mani, the only difference really is the top coat which is a gel formula.  after drying in a UV lamp for 5-8 minutes your nails emerge looking shiny and fabulous. The only thing that really disappointed me was the color selection available, I ended up with a dark gray color- Slate, which I’m really liking. I was told the mani should last about 2 weeks since the gel provides a nice little “shell” and isn’t prone to chipping like regular polish. Unless you’re a non-stop picker like I am, then you’ll manage to ruin it in about 2-3 days. Despite my horrible nail habits everything is still looking pretty great and I hope they will continue to do so for another week. Wish me luck
