My Fall 2011 Fashion Must Haves

It’s only been a few days since my last post and the weather has dropped about 10 degrees, typical Wisconsin. This has left  me considerably more excited to drag out my Fall wardrobe, unfortunately I’ve noticed, as I do every season, that my selection is lacking quite a few pieces. With that I decided to take some time and put together a list of my Fall 2011 fashion must haves and share them with you. Since the list seems to be miles long I thought it would be best to spare you and only share the top 10.

Top 10 Fall Fashion Must Haves

1. Riding Boots- This look is just so classic. A perfect cold weather alternative to flats that add a little flair to leggings, skinny jeans or a dress.

Two styles I really like Left: Madden Girl-Rickki/Right: Aldo-BelfiglioBoth from www.Zappos.com

2. Bags, Satchels, Totes & more Bags- Call me materialistic, but I love having my “stuff” with me at all times. I’m a total “what if..” person which is why you can always find me with a ginormous bag on my shoulder toting whatever can fit with me where ever I go. Lucky for me Fall has a great selection of over sized totes, satchels and bags for me to   choose from. Check Aldo, Target, and Zappos for really cute yet affordable styles.

3. Vintage Eye Wear: Cat Eyes- No, I’m not talking winged eyeliner, though I do love to rock that look on occasion, I’m referring to the retro style glasses I’m seeing everywhere. I can’t wait to get my hands on a pair! Check out  the Vintage 50s Eyewear shop on Etsy to see some really cool vintage frames.

4. Suede Wedges- Especially in black or leopard print. I see myself using these in place of my usual  platform pumps.

5. Lace- Now that just sounds sexy. Lace has come a long way from being limited to  lingerie.  Throw on a lacy top or dress and you’re bound to turn heads. The perfect way to give off that flirty, feminine vibe without being too revealing.

6. Statement Jewelry- This summer I noticed the lack of jewelry in my life. I love the way it can really jazz up an outfit, yet I never wear any, probably because all the jewelry I have is so outdated I can’t even remember when I got it. Now that I’ve had this jewelry epiphany I’m really excited to add some bold pieces to my collection.

Loving big chunky necklaces!

7. Chunky Knits- When the temperature starts dropping, so does my desire to put effort into my look. But since hibernating in my pj’s isn’t usually an option a nice knit will keep me cozy warm and still keep my style in tact.

Victoria's Secret never fails to make sweaters sexy

8. Wide leg Jeans/Pants- Don’t get me wrong I still love my skinnies, but something about the wide leg trend is just so chic. Nothing like a pair of jeans that can multi-task, which is exactly the wide leg’s expertise. Pair it with flats or heels, wear them to the office or out for a nice dinner, not to mention they’re flattering on almost all body types. Not bad I’d say.

AE Hipster Flair- Love America Eagle Jeans, they fit me like a glove.

9. A-Line Mini Skirts- Another vintage piece made it to my list. Usually I’m not one for skirts since they just never seem to look like right on me but I have my eye on the A-line trend. For a girl that lacks curves, such as myself, this style can really give you a boost. Coincidentally, it can slim you down as well if worn right. Add a pair of bold tights to keep warm and give a whole new twist to your outfit.

10. Bold Colors- Usually I’m pretty neutral when it comes to my wardrobe but I can’t get over how much I love all the color options I’m seeing in stores for fall clothing and accessories. Just because the weather is dreary doesn’t mean your outfit has to be, right?
